STOKES, Francis - {from Walnut Hill} Francis Stokes, one of the oldest and most respected citizens of our neighborhood, died at Rogers Dec. 15th, being 62 years, 10 months and 15 days old. He leaves two daughters, two sons and three brothers, all of whom were present at his burial except one daughter. He was a brother of Knox Stokes of Rogers and John Stokes of Bentonville. After a brief service conducted by G.W. Williams he was laid to rest in the Walnut Hill cemetery Monday, Dec. 18th.
