Jackie Lena Yancy of Topeka, Kansas, daughter of Jack and Arlena West Schultz, was born August 16, 1951, in Sonora, Texas. She died March 3, 2002 at her residence. She was 50.
Mrs. Yancey was united in marriage to Gerald Yancey on June 26, 1975, in Little Rock.
Mrs. Yancey moved to Topeka, Kansas in 1983, where she worked as a real estate agent. In 1990 she became a loan officer for a mortage company and later for Shawnee Federal and then of Colombian Bank, where she was Vice President in charge of the real estate department until retiring because of ill health in 1998. She was a member of Wanamaker Woods Church of the Nazarene.
She is survived by her husband, Gerald Yancey of Topeka, Kansas; three sons, Jim Bush of Topeka, Kansas, Rusty Yancey of Jonesboro, Randy Yancey of Jonesboro; two daughter, Jana Roe of Topeka, Kansas, Libbey Yancey of Topeka, Kansas; mother and stepfather, Arlena and Bill Holleman of Brownwood, Texas; one brother, Dickie Lon Schultz of Brownwood, Texas and nine grandchildren and a host of other relatives.
Interment at Owens Cemetery in Brockwell Mrach 7, 2002 under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel of Topeka, Kansas.
Memorial may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1315 SW Arrowhead Road, Topeka, KS 66604 or to Midland Hospice House, 120 SW Fraxier Circle, Topeka, KS 66606.
