HART, Nancy J. - The many friends and relatives were greatly shocked and grieved to learn of the sudden death of Nancy J. Hart, wife of Edmond L. Hart, who is known and will be remembered as one among the oldest people in Benton Co. The deceased was born in Bedford Co., Tenn. Dec. 22, 1820 and died Mar. 7, 1902 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. B.F. Oakley, seven miles west of Rogers and with whom she had lived the past few months. Her death was caused from a stroke of paralysis. She had apparently been as well as usual until the day previous to her death. Despite her age and feebleness she was quite active and enjoyed going out among her children and friends. To know her was to love her. She was kind and thoughtful towards all and there is a vacant place in our hearts and homes which can never be filled. She was married to Edmond L. Hart April 4, 1839, almost 64 years ago, and to this union was born fourteen children, seven of whom survive her; namely, Mrs. Elizabeth Derreberry, Mrs. Jane Lichlyter, Mrs. Mollie Oakley, Mrs. Sallie Duckworth, Council L., Robt. F. and Geo. W. Hart. She became a member of the Christian church early in life and continued in that faith until death. Services were conducted by Rev. Sears. A procession followed the remains to the Hart cemetery where she was interred to await the call of Him who shall awaken the dead, both great and small, and bring his children forth and clothe them in the beautiful garments of salvation. Mrs. J.M. Derreberry.
