John G. Cherry, 80, of Colcord, Okla., died Monday in Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital. He was born Jan. 5, 1897, in Delaware County, Okla.
He was a member of the Church of God at Colcord, a retired dairy farmer and a World War I veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Sadie Cherry of the home; three sons, Elzie Cherry of Siloam Springs, Alvin Cherry of Tulsa, Okla., and Jerry Cherry of Gentry; five daughters, Idabell Chamberlain and Deanna Hope Allen, both of Colcord, Velva Lou Kinion of Baxter Springs, Kan., Mrs. Glenda Fae Owens and Mrs. Sue Maples, both of Siloam Springs; a sister, Lela Javens of Siloam Springs; and 13 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. in Draper Community Center at Colcord with the Rev. Edward Billups officiating. Burial will be in the Dickson Cemetery under the direction of Wasson Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.
