Wife of Joshua Wright
*Obituary
Benton County Democrat
Thursday, January 5, 1905
WRIGHT, Margret M. - Mrs. Margret M. Wright, wife of Joshua Wright, departed this life on Saturday morning, Dec. 31, 1904. Her remains were carried to the Oak Cemetery followed by a long procession of friends and in the beautiful grove by the side of the burial grounds an appropriate funeral service was conducted by her pastor, Rev. J.H. Maddox, after which her body was consigned to its final resting place. Sister Wright was 56 years old and had been a Christian and member of the M.E. church from childhood. The testimony of her husband was, "If there ever was a Christian, she was one." The members of the family were present to witness this last and most impressive scene. She was conscious to the last and gave the text of scripture to her pastor that she wanted used at her funeral service, also a special song which she wanted sung. She had been a great sufferer with that dread disease, consumption. The last struggle was hard but there came a peaceful, quiet moment at the last and she passed in triumph to her heavenly rest. J.H. Maddox.
