MELBOURNE - Ella Naomi Ward Shaver, 85, of Wideman died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2002, at Calico Rock. Born Oct. 1, 1916, at Union, she was the daughter of Richard and Hattie Rains Ward. She was a homemaker, nurse and a member of Union Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons, Robert Shaver of Little Rock and John Shaver of Texarkana; a daughter, Norma Muncy of Melbourne; two sisters, Ester Cantrell of Calico Rock and Hazel Thomas of Yuba City, Calif.; four grandchildren, Robb Shaver of Wideman, Sandi King of Gentry, KaLyn Nethercot of Wichita, Kan., and Nicole Shinn of Conway; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Shelby Shaver; a sister, Pat Farrington; and two brothers, R.D. Ward and Billy Ward. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Roman and Billy Howard Memorial Chapel with Alfred Young officiating. Burial will be in Wideman Cemetery with arrangements by Eddie's Family Funeral Home of Melbourne. Pallbearers will be Kim Yancey, Kenny Stapleton, Jerry Ward, Darrell Ball, Gordon Owens and Connie Everett. Honorary pallbearers will be Orbra Ward, J.H. Ward, Lloyd Yancey, Morris Jones, Hayden Kankey, Kirby Ward and Gamaliel Jones. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight.
