Mrs. Virginia Ann Hudson, 83, P. O. Box 183, Norphlet, died Sunday at a local hospital following a long illness. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. today at Norphlet First Baptist Church with Rev. Henry Davenport officiating. Interment will be at Rehobeth Cemetery under the direction of Young's. Born Sept. 19, 1890 in Arkabutla, Miss., Mrs. Hudson was the daughter of Edward Patrick and Emma May Patrick. She was a housewife and had lived in Norphlet 50 years. She was a member of Norphlet First Baptist Church and Norphlet Eastern Star. Survivors include her husband Nathan Hudson of Norphlet; a son, N. P. Hudson of El Dorado; two daughters, Mrs. Dudley Huckabee of Baytown, Tex. and Mrs. Mildred Brent of Orange, Tex.; a sister, Mrs. Melvin Strickland of Norphlet; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Buddy Riggs, Donald Mason, Frank Burton, Doyle Terrell, Ralph Evers and John H. Davidson. Honorary pallbearers will be Frank Castleberry, Fred Love, J. T. Stocks and members of Woodall's Sunday School Class. The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to services. (El Dorado News-Times - August 12, 1974)
