Frances Burks age 75, of Hermitage, AR died Monday, August 28th, 2017 at the Baptist Hospital in Little Rock, AR. She was born January 18th, 1942 in Pine Bluff, AR a daughter of the late Ell Morris and Martha Jane Jackson Morris. She was a retired elementary school teacher in Hermitage, AR a graduate of the University of Arkansas at Monticello where she earned her teaching degree and a was member of the Calvary Presbyterian Church in Johnsville, AR. She was also preceded in death by her husband Roger Burks whom she married April 2, 1961 and he died April 21st, 2006. Brothers Alfred Morris, Tony Morris, J.R. Morris and a half sister Flora Belle Whitaker preceded her in death.
She is survived by a son, Roger Burks, Jr. and spouse Rhena, Memphis, Tenn. 2 daughters Angie Ferrell and spouse Eddie, Godfrey Landing, AR. and Tasha Stuart and spouse Deon, Decatur, Ill. A brother Billy Joe Morris, Scott City, MO, and a sister Bernice Lackey, White Hall, AR. 8 grandchildren Jill Ferrell, Leann Parker and spouse Jeffery, Katie Ferguson and spouse Travis, Josh Burks and spouse Samantha, Jacob Burks, Jonathan Burks and spouse Olga, C. J. Stuart and Cydney Stuart. 7 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were 10:00 AM Thursday, August 31st at Frazer's Chapel. Burial was in Moseley Cemetery by Frazer's Funeral Home. Active Pallbearers were Josh Burks, Jacob Burks, Jonathan Burks, Jeffrey Parker, Travis Ferguson, and C.J. Stuart. Honorary Pallbearers were Dr. Bob Rushing, Saria Banks, Ron Fawbush, Jeanie Fawbush, Tommy Shipman, Vickie Taylor, Ron Hoskins, and Luis Aguilar. (Frazer Funeral Home - Warren, Arkansas)
