Louise S. Coody, age 90, of Crossett, passed away on Friday, February 17, 2017, at the Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock. She was born in Hamburg, Arkansas on July 1, 1926, to her parents, Johnnie and Rena Sweeney. She was a member of Egypt Missionary Baptist Church and enjoyed cooking, quilting, reading and visiting with family and friends. Louise worked at the Hamburg Shirt Factory and the fabric department at Wal-Mart for many years where she enjoyed meeting new people and making new friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, H.C. Coody, and one son, Johnnie Dale Coody.

She is survived by one son, James Coody and wife Sharon; grandchildren, Sandra Bradshaw, Ladale Collins, Janelle Coody, Jonathan Coody, and Monica Rogers; and one sister, Florence Craig; along with seven great-grandchildren and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, February 19th at Egypt Missionary Baptist Church with Pastors Jerry Carter, and Keith Rose officiating, followed by an interment at Daily Cemetery under the direction of Medders Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Tony Craig, John Laing, Bobby Kilcrease, Daryl Morgan, Terry Livingston, and Joe Livingston. Honorary Pallbearers are Ronnie Livingston, Jimmy Craig, L.M. Stewart, J.R. Jeffress, and Frank Moffatt.

Visitation will be from 2-3:00 prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Egypt Missionary Baptist Church.
