Mr. George Segars, 89, of Hamburg, died Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at his residence in Hamburg. Mr. Segars was a native of Ashley County; a resident of Hamburg for the past 40 years and a former resident of San Diego, California and Monroe, Louisiana. He retired from Ryan Aircraft Company and he was a veteran of the United States Army having served during World War II. He was a Methodist.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Sadie Segars in 2003; his parents, J.W. & Della Dingler Segars; two brothers, John & Alvin Segars and three sisters, Dorothy Thomas, Belle Bratton and Jimmie Thatcher.
He is survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services and burial will be 10 a.m., Friday August 5, 2011 in the Hamburg Cemetery with Rev. David A. Moore officiating.
