Chester Murray Harris was born May 16, 1963 to Charles and Mable Harris in Strong, Arkansas. He accepted Christ at an early age and united with the Shiloh Baptist Church in Strong, Arkansas. He was a 1981 graduate of Strong High School in Strong, Arkansas.

In 1984 he enlisted in the United States Army Reserve. Chester was an employee of Cooper Tire and Rubber Company in El Dorado, Arkansas for approximately ten years, in 1991 he graduated from Coastal Truck Driving College. With that degree he drove trucks for Sanders Logging and Gaskin Logging. In his spare time, he was known for cleaning the interior and exterior of automobiles. As a devoted family man, he took great pleasure in working and providing for his family until his health began to fail.

In 1995, Chester united in Holy Matrimony to Evette Meeks. His parents, his daughter; Chelsey Harris, his brother; Stefano Harris and his nephew; Brian Harris all precede him in death.

Chester transitioned from this life on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Life TouchHospice in El Dorado, Arkansas. His memories will be cherished by; his wife Evette Meeks Harris of Strong, Arkansas. Seven sons; Montego Ridgell of Little Rock, Arkansas, Demetrius Ford of Huttig, Arkansas, Brandon Meeks of El Dorado, Arkansas, Justin Ford, Chester Harris, Jr., Bryan Meeks, and Rubyn Harris all of Strong, Arkansas. Four sisters; Sheila Curtis (Roy) of Crossett, Arkansas, Patricia Robinson of El Dorado, Arkansas, Dorothy Miller and Stephanie Ford (Robert) both of Strong, Arkansas. Seven brothers; Michael Harris (Dianne), Danny Harris (Felicia) both of Crossett, Arkansas, Anthony Harris (Josephine), Greg Ingram both of El Dorado, Arkansas, Kenneth Harris (Sandra) of Strong, Arkansas, Moses Ingram of Killeen, Texas and Keith Haynes (Jackie) of Houston Texas. He leaves eight grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.

Funeral service will be held Friday, May 24, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Curry Chapel AME Church in Strong, AR.

Visitation will be held at the church Thursday, May 23, 2019 from 4 to 6.

Burial will follow in the Batts Chapel Cemetery in Huttig, AR under the direction of Mitchell Memorial Funeral Service of Crossett, AR
