Hazel Lorene Denton, 88, of Hamburg, was promoted to Glory on Sunday, October 30, 2022. She was born in Tinsman, Arkansas on June 8, 1934, to her parents, Cecil and Eunice Roberts Payne.

Hazel was raised not only on a farm in New Edinburg, AR, but also in church. Her early introduction to Jesus and basic domestic skills, proved to be the perfect foundation for the rest of her life.

She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, sewing, gardening, canning, and cooking, and was known for her delicious cornbread. Through the years, she won numerous awards at the county fair for her canned and delicious baked goods, and often volunteered as a judge.

Hazel was a member of Cloverdale Assembly of God Church, the prestigious Eastern Star 151, a sixty-year member of the Ashley County Home Extension, and the VFW.

She was a caring people person who loved to laugh and when overflowing with joy, she would dance. She was selfless and loved her friends, her church, her family, and Jesus.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Marshall Denton; one brother, Ed Payne; and one sister, Jimmie Ann Payton.

She leaves behind one daughter, Tharon Yandell (Harold) of Hamburg; and one son, Randy Denton (Donna) of Mission, TX; along with four sisters, Carolyn Nolan of Moro Bay, AR, Lavon Meirose (Jim) of Platte City, MO, Mary Miller (James) of Russellville, AR, and Barbara Eddy (Mike) of Gurdon, AR; four grandchildren, Trent Yandell (Sandra), Jared Denton (Shelby), Bruce Yandell, and Angela Ward; seven great-grandchildren, Carter, Blake, Andrew, Kimberly, Bryce, Brianna, and Jayla; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 2nd, at Medders Funeral Home, 1564 Hwy 52 W, in Crossett with Bro. Kenneth Pack and Bro. David Williams, officiating, followed by interment at Hamburg Cemetery under the direction of Medders Funeral Home.
