Robert Dean Asbell Sr., 78, of Fort Smith, AR. entered into rest on Tuesday, December 6, 2011. He was born August 9, 1933 in Birmingham, AL. to the late Francis and Mable Asbell.
He was retired from Burns Security.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Cindy Westerfield and his granddaughter Lindsey Hofrichter.
He is survived by his wife Joanne of 22 years, five daughters Deana Avalos and husband George of Fort Smith, AR., Cyndi Glass and husband Bobby of Fort Smith, AR., Melissa Hickey of Fort Smith, AR., Carol Still and husband Lee of Pocola, AR. and Cathy Francis of Arizona, one son Robert Asbell Jr. of Van Buren, AR., two brothers David Asbell of Fort Smith, AR. and Prentice Maddux of Charleston, AR., two sisters Debbie Hackett of Burleson, TX and Mary Silvia of Raleigh, SC., twelve grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 10, 2011 at Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith, AR. with interment at Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Fort Smith, AR.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Glass, Roy Parrott, Kyle Parrott, Aaron Hickey, Hayden Hindmarsh and Chris McCoy.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith, AR.

April 21, 1944 - September 30, 2018
Our beautiful mother, Sandra Joanne Asbell, 74, of Fort Smith, gained her wings on Sunday September 30, 2018.
She was born April 21, 2944 in Fort Smith.
Her mother Mabel Parrott and her father Joseph Hurley preceded her in death. Two loving husbands, Darrell Hickey and Robert Asbell, a brother Darrell Hurley and a sister Brenda Rice, also preceded her in death.
She is survived by three daughters Cyndi Glass and her husband Bobby of Fort Smith, Carol Still and her husband Lee of Pocola and Missy McCoy and her husband Chris of Fort Smith, a brother Roy Parrott and his wife Carrie of Gardner, KS, three sisters, Ida Brown and her husband Donald of Van Buren, Donna Thompson and her companion Harry Boney of Paola, KS and Glenda Sue Williams of Hillsdale, KS six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and two great- great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many wonderful friends that loved her.
Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Friday at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home. Visitation will be 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM Thursday at Edwards Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Aaron Hickey, Kyle Parrott, Harry Boney, Kent Tally, Shawn Smith and Steve Roth. Honorary Pallbearers are Bobby Glass, Lee Still, Chris McCoy and Neil Packer, Jr.
