Mattie Jean Williams was born on November 13, 1928 in Fort Smith,Arkansas to the late Henry and Matalene Madison. She was a member of the Saint James Baptist Church under the pastorate of the late Rev. J. A. Perry. She attended the Public Schools of Forth Smith, Arkansas. She married Carl William Roberts, Sr. To this union three children were born. Later she married Samuel Williams. Mattie died on Monday, September 28, 1992 at the Sparks Regional Medical Center in Forth Smith, Arkansas.
