Mary Louise Hayes, 88, formerly of Siloam Springs died Wednesday at the Independence, Mo., Regional Hospital. She was born March 1, 1914, near Goshen to Perry Baker and Laura Belle Edmondson Oxford.

She was a retired employee of Sears at Kansas City and a member of Wedington Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Hayes.

Survivors include two daughters, Norma Opalka of Independence, Mo., and Laura Moss of Wedington; one son, Harold Hayes of Holt, Mo.; two sisters, Bernice Ezell of Wedington and Bessie Faye Thurman of Siloam Springs; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2. p.m. toady at the Wedington Baptist Church with the Rev. Phil Misenheimer officiating. Burial will be at Wedington Cemetery, under the direction of Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.
