Alvis Murry Simpson, 91, of Poteau, OK. went to be with the Lord on March 22, 2020 in Poteau, OK. He was born on December 30, 1928, in Cecil Arkansas to Elbert “Burt” Simpson and Cora Shetterly Simpson. Murry was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a retired accountant with Arkansas Oklahoma Gas Company. Murry was a member of For His Glory Church in Fort Smith.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Jeanie Simpson; two brothers, Eland and Ralph Simpson.
Murry was survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Penny and Jack Jedlicka of Poteau, OK; two grandchildren, Shaden Jedlicka of Oklahoma City, OK and Mikey Black of Fort Smith, AR.
Murry was an active member of the Downtown Sertoma Club for many years, serving as a director, treasurer and president. He was also active in Sertoma International.
Graveside service will be 1 PM, Thursday, March 26, 2020 at Roselawn Cemetery in Fort Smith, AR. Viewing will be from 8 AM till 5 PM Wednesday, March 25, 2020 at Edwards Funeral Home.

May 4, 1929 - November 13, 2009
Tomijean "Jeanie" Simpson, 80, of Fort Smith, AR passed away Friday, November 13, 2009, in Fort Smith. She was born May 4, 1929 in Spiro, OK to the late Herman and Alma Mae Rimmer.
She was a member of the Journey United Methodist Church. She was retired from Westark Child Development Center.
Funeral service was Monday, November 16, 2009, at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with a private family committal at Roselawn Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years Murry, one daughter Penny Jedlicka and husband Jack of Fort Smith, AR and one grandson Shaden Jedlicka.
Pallbearers were John Hook, Jesse Casher, Ed Covey, Richard Nixon, John Wilfong and Frank Jedlicka.
