April 29, 1929 - June 10, 2020
Jimmie Lee Shields, 91, of Fort Smith, AR. passed away at his home on June 10, 2020.
Mr. Fields was
born in Dennis, KS. to the late Orrie Shields and Eunice Hart.
Mr. Shields was retired from the Federal Protective Service, a devout believer in Jesus Christ and spent his life being a father or grandfather to anyone he met.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan, of more than 50 years, his 1st wife Charity Shields, brothers Wilbur Shields and Raymond Shields, sister Joanne Fowler and grandson Jimmie Jarrels.
Mr. Shields is survived by his sons Michael Shields (Marcia) of Alma, AR., Gregory Shields (Gail) of Olney
Springs, CO., daughters Jaymie Oliva of Colorado City, CO., Connie Waight (Trenton) of Fort Smith,
brother Alvin Shields (Twyla) of Ben Brook, TX, 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 1 great great
grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Jared Shields, Joshua Conner, Trenton Waight, Alexander Adameck,
Gregory Shields and Chris Shields. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Bridges and Robert Martin. Public viewing will be 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm on Monday at Lewis Funeral Chapel located at 4817 Kelley Hwy. Fort
Smith, Arkansas. Services will be at 2:00 pm Tuesday at Lewis Funeral Chapel with interment at
Roselawn Cemetery in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

Joan “Taylor” Shields, 83, entered into rest on Thursday, January 1, 2015. She was born December 18, 1931 in Holly Grove, AR. She was a member of the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by 1 grandchild Jimmie Jarrells; she is survived by her husband Jimmie; 2 daughters Jaymie Oliva of Colorado City, CO., Connie Waight and husband Trenton of Fort Smith, AR.; 2 sons Michael Shields and wife Marcia of Alma, Ar., Gregory Shields and wife Gail of Olney Springs, CO.; 1 brother Geroge Powell of Sunset City, AZ.; special friends Claira Forsgren, Inez Hulsey, Wyna Whitson, Faye Robertson; 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 5, 2015 at Lewis-Roberts Funeral Chapel with burial at Rose Lawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jared Shields, Trenton Waight, Joshua Conner, Jerry Bridges, Chris Shields, and Greg Shields. Viewing will be Sunday, January 4, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Family will receive friends Sunday from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 pm.
