BENTONVILLE — Peggy Jean Phelan, age 73, of Bentonville, Ark., passed away at Bradford House Rehabilitation on
Tuesday, December 7, 2021.

She is preceded in death by her son, Marcus Hinshaw; and her mother, Jean Crawford.

She is survived by her daughter, Sonjia Roy; granddaughters, Savannah Elkins Eldridge (Justin) and Chandra Roy; great-grandchildren, Chance Eldridge, Maddison and Chevelle Hackler, Avery and Hudson Roy; sister, Debi Phelan Anderson (Steve); and nieces, Kadence McKinley (Chris), Andrea Stringer (Chris); and great-nieces, Genevieve and Juliana Stringer.

Peggy was born on July 27, 1948 in Bentonville, Ark. She graduated Main West High School in Des Plains, Illinois in 1967.

Peggy was an extremely hard worker. She was a custodian at Grace Hill Elementary School. She worked at the Rogers Coca-Cola plant and Price Cutter Supermarket in the deli. She worked various jobs, cleaning houses and selling Avon.

Peggy loved her church and was a member of Rogers First Church of the Nazarene. She loved being a part of the Come-Joy-N-Us Class.

Peggy loved her family very much and especially treasured Christmastime traditions. She inherited her deep love of family and Christmas from her mother. Peggy had the BEST gift reactions of anyone in the family. We think she's going to have a wonderful Christmas this year, but we sure are going to miss her.

Stephen Anderson, Chris McKinley, Jeff Wilson, Chris Stringer, Justin Eldridge, Genevieve Stringer will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Franklin Holloway, Dyer Carithers, Rodney Jernigan

A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Rogers First Church of the Nazarene from 1-2 p.m. A funeral service will immediately follow at 2 p.m. Interment will be held at Rogers Cemetery. To place an online tribute, please visit www.bernafuneralhomes.com.
