Emery William Tipton, 67, of Rogers died Monday, April 13, at his home. He was born Aug. 25, 1919 at Cedar Creek to Sherman and Lovina DeGroff Tipton. He was a retired warehouse worker for Lemke Wholesale, and a lifelong resident of the Rogers area. He was a past member of the VFW in Rogers.

Survivors include his widow Dena Tipton of the home; one son, David E. Tipton of Rogers; four daughters, Elaine Perkins of Denver, Colo., Ruy Brown of Pineville, La., Carol McLeod of Parker, Colo., and Kathryn Brown of Siloam Springs; three brothers, Howard Tipton of Little Rock, Gilbert Tipton of Garfield and Selby Tipton of Rogers; one sister, Clara Hall of Washburn, Mo.; and eight grandchildren.

The funeral is set for 2 p.m. Friday at Burns Funeral Chapel in Rogers with Johnny Lawson officiating with burial in Rogers Cemetery.

Visitation is to be 5-7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

ROGERS — Dena Fielding Tipton, 96, of Rogers, passed away Sunday, July 18, 2021, in Rogers. She was born July 25, 1924, in Rogers, Ark., the daughter of James Virgil and Lassie Leota (Fields) Fielding.

Dena was a wife and mother who was a faithful servant of the Lord.

Before her marriage to Emery, she taught in a one-room schoolhouse at Pine Creek, Prairie Creek, and Mountain View. Dena was a long-standing member of Monte Ne Baptist Church who loved reading and studying her Bible.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Emery William Tipton; her siblings, Virginia Colville, Minter, Millard, and Carroll Fielding.

She is survived by her children, Elaine Perkins (Dave), David Tipton (Val), Ruby Brown (Joe), Carol MacLeod, and Kathryn Fordyce (George); her two sisters, Wilma Obenshain and Joyce Whitley; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 21, 2021, at Benton County Funeral Home, 306 N. 4th St., Rogers. Interment will follow in the Rogers Cemetery. Visitation 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
