Robert C. Combs, 80, of Hot Springs, passed away June 7, 2020. He was born December 18, 1939 in Hot Springs to Robert and Maxine (Burks) Combs.

He most lovingly cherished his family. Growing up an only child, he treasured having four children, a multitude of grandchildren and great grandchildren who fondly referred to him as “Pa”.

St. Louis Cardinals Baseball was his team. He loved going to Cardinal ball games and was the first to arrive for batting practice and warm up and the last one to leave at the end of the game. Even though he loved the Cardinals his most favorite teams were the many he coached at the Hot Springs Boys and Girls Club. He loved coaching and mentoring young men especially his sons and grandsons at the Hot Springs Boys and Girls Club where he also served on the Board of Directors. To honor RC, we will wear Cardinals Red or your favorite casual baseball fan attire at his visitation and graveside service.

He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force Reserves. RC was a member at Lake Valley Community Church.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sharon Combs; and son-in-law, Mike Wells.

He is survived by his children Dr. Chris Combs (Ladonna), Kim Wells, Karen Wright (Mika) and Clay Combs (Brittany); grandchildren Robert (Amanda) and Andrew (Hannah) Wright, Lauren and Zachary (Ashley) Wells, Sarah Wachendorf (Grant), Sydney, Madison, Regan, Jack Walker, and Chanlee Combs, and Blaize and Londyn Ficut; and great-grandchildren Rylee, Mason, Easton, Taylor, Lee, and Johnnie Gwenn. He grew up as an only child, but cherished his cousins as he grew up in the Cutter Morning Star area.

Visitation will be 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home with graveside services immediately following at 11:00 a.m. at Morning Star Cemetery with Pastor Roger Stanage officiating.

Pallbearers are his grandsons.

Honorary pallbearers are Residents at Combs Mobile Home Park, Linda Evans who lovingly cared for him, and the many coaches and players from the Hot Springs Boys Club.
