Pauline "Polly" E. Smith, 79, of Hot Springs passed away Friday, October 19, 2012. She was born May 18, 1933 in Hot Springs to Olie H. Porter and Bessie Russell Porter.

Pauline graduated in the 1951 Class of Hot Springs High School where she was involved in Thespians, Historians, FHA, Vice-President of the Library Club, Thespian Play Committee, Candle Light Service and Home Room Treasurer. She was co-owner of Smith Brothers Grocery for 12 years and was office manager at Williams Brothers Feed Store in the late 70's.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Opal Hilbert and Mildred Lowder, both of Hot Springs. Pauline is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, John C. Smith; sisters, Jerri Harrison and Juanita Smith; stepsister, Jennie Troutt, all of Hot Springs; and many nieces and nephews.

Pauline will be remembered for her beautiful smile that lasts a lifetime. She was deeply loved by her family and many friends.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home Chapel with Clarence Shell officiating. Burial will follow in Morning Star Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Terry Smith, David Smith II, Steve Watts, Danny Watts, Robert Jones and Jim Lucas. Honorary pallbearers include David Harrison, Russ Harrison, Ed Brown, David Smith, Sue Wilson, Fuji Horn, Elizabeth McDaniel, Mary and Richard Hawthorne, Carl and Pam Hawthorn, and Hot Springs High 1951 Classmates.

Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

The family would like to thank Dr. Koehn, Dr. Muldoon, Dr. Pruitt and the staff of Arkansas Hospice.
