August 15, 1903 - January 12, 1969
Mrs. Ruby Ross died Sunday in a local hospital following a brief illness. Mrs. Ross was born Aug. 15, 1903, in Spearsville, La., the daughter of George and Alice Grimes Brown. She was a charter member of the Union Mission Baptist Church. She was married to the late Jesse R. Ross. To this union twelve children were born. Survivors include four sons, Oscar R. Ross, Jr., Lester Charles Ross and Jesse Ross, Jr, all of El Dorado, and Willie Lee Ross, San Francisco, Calif.; six daughters, Mrs. Ora C>Taylor, Mrs. Betty Ethel McSwain, Mrs. Carolyn Lindsey, all of Detroit, Mich., Mrs. Minnie E. Beasley, Mrs. Ruby Alderson, both of El Dorado, and Mrs. Etta N. White, Gary, Ind.; one sister, Mrs. Sallie Leslie, Oakland, Calif.; 18 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Union Mission Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Zion Watch Cemetery under the direction of Andrews Funeral Home. The body will be moved to the church at 1 p.m. (El Dorado Times - January 16, 1969)
