Donald Coy Coats, 68 of Fordyce died Thursday, October 14, 2021 at his home. He was born September 11, 1953 in Rison to the late Donald Ray and Bobbie Jean Fikes Coats. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Lillie Jane Norman Coats, his brother Tommy Ray Coats, and his grandson Thomas Allen Wolfe.
He is survived by five sons: John (Denise) Coats of Woodlawn, Donald Coats Jr. (Kim) of Clarksville, Tennessee, Rodney Grice (Tracy) of Bryant, Bruce (Helen) Grice of New Edinburg, and Keith (Melody) Grice of New Edinburg; one daughter Brandy Coats Wolfe of Warren; two sisters, Hortense (Paul) Kirkpatrick of Woodlawn and Marty (James) Erwin of Rison; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6PM until 8PM at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. Graveside services are 2PM Monday at Moseley Cemetery near New Edinburg. Arrangements are by Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce. To sign the online register visit www.bentonfuneralhome.net .
