Violet Marie Shaffer, age 100, of Altus, Arkansas, passed from this life, Tuesday, February 14, 2023, in Ozark. She was born October 13, 1922 in Trout Lake Township, Michigan to Sidney Batchelor and Nancy Jones. Violet loved painting and wallpapering homes in the Altus and Ozark area. She was most famous from transforming her own home, inside and out, into a winter wonderland at Christmas time. Violet won the Altus light decorating contest for many years. She loved hosting tours and feeding guests her delicious baked goods. She is preceded in death by her husband, Armour Shaffer, who passed in 1981; one son, Donald L. Shaffer; and one daughter, Nancy Jones.

Violet is survived by her grandson, Donald N. Shaffer of Altus; one step-granddaughter, Lesa Howell and husband Kendell of Ozark; two granddaughters, Dawn Leonard and husband Timothy of Troy, Michigan and Danielle Curtis and husband John of Holly, Michigan; and her eight great grandchildren, Miranda and Jordan Easom, Gabriella, Angela and Anthony Leonard, Maycee, Boston, and Colton Curtis.

Viewing visitation service will be 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M., Saturday, February 18, 2023 at Shaffer Funeral Home 2315 West Commercial Street in Ozark, with burial at Houston Cemetery in Alix, Cemetery, under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be the Shaffer nephews and grandson, Donald N. Shaffer.
