Ruth (Dees) Hughes, 92 of Magnolia, Arkansas died Saturday, January 29, 2011 at the Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House in Mountain Home, Arkansas. She was born July 14, 1918 in Columbia County, Arkansas to the late James "Jap" William and Minnie Mabel (Booth) Dees.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Antioch East Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 49 years John Johnson Hughes; brothers Dawson, Gordon, Travis and Dewey Dees.
Survivors are her daughters and son-in-laws, Patricia and Earl Hancock of Ocala, Florida, Mary and Paul Nicely of Mountain Home, Arkansas and Patsy and Wayne Lindsey of Atlanta, Texas; sister, Margaret Hendricks of Livingston, Texas; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 3rd at the Antioch East Baptist Church with Bro. Jim Brown officiating. Burial will follow at the Antioch East Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. of Magnolia. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Antioch East Cemetery Association.
