June 30, 1907 - December 2, 1967
Mrs. C. V. Carter, 60, of 2521 Watson died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born in Union County June 30, 1907, and the daughter of Ervin and Mamie Garrett Burgie. She was a member of Morning Star Baptist Church. Surviving are one son, Donald Ray Boone of Denver, Colo.; one daughter, Mrs. Lille P. Collins, City; six sisters, Mrs. Arizonia Amis and Mrs. Bertha Wilkins, both of Chicago, Ill., Mrs. Naomi Russell, San Angelo, Texas, Mrs. Rosie Hall, Mrs. Earlieteen Robinson and Mrs. Erma J. Nunley all of El Dorado; one brother, Sampson Burgie, City; four grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:30 p.m. in Morning Star Baptist Church with the Rev. H. G. Goodwin officiating. Burial will follow in Morning Star Cemetery under the direction of Sims Mortuary. (El Dorado Times - December 7, 1967)
