October 2, 1930 - August 14, 2021
Joan B. Fant, 90, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away on Saturday, August 14, 2021 in Fort Smith and went to be in fellowship with the Lord.
She was born on October 2, 1930 in Fort Smith to Elwood and Mollie (Belt) Blass.
Joan attended Fort Smith Public Schools and Fort Smith Junior College. She married Edison W. Fant on January 12, 1952 and worked for Kansas Gas and Electric Company in Wichita, Kansas while her husband attended college. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Fort Smith.
She was preceded in death by her husband Edison W. Fant, a sister, Caroline Blass Dooley and a brother, Robert B Blass.
A private family graveside service will be held at Roselawn Cemetery under the direction of Ocker-Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith, Arkansas.
She is survived by her son David W. Fant and his wife Alicia (Rainey) Fant of Mulberry, Arkansas; a granddaughter, Misty Blackmon of Ozark, Arkansas; four great grandchildren, Samantha Rose and Brayden, Riley and Daisy Blackmon; a great great grandson, Chevy Rose; a niece, Linda Dooley Billingsley of Fort Smith and two nephews, Edwin G. Dooley, Jr. of Fort Smith and Baxter Blass of Ogden, Utah.
