Eleene Cannon Smith , age 87, of Skiatook, Oklahoma, formerly of Lindsay, OK, passed away on March 17, 2001 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born on June 30, 1913 in Lamar, OK to John Granville Lindley and Lucy Jane Tyree Lindley. She was a member of the Baptist Church. Eleene was a housewife and enjoyed reading books, yard work and traveling.
Survivors include two brothers, John Lindley and Calvin Lindley; eleven nieces and twelve nephews. Eleene married Scott Cannon February 26, 1932 in Oklahoma City, OK. He preceded her in death June 19, 1958. She and Cecil Smith were married January 24, 1975 in Las Vegas, NV. He preceded her in death February 7, 1982.
Services will be held in the Boydston Funeral Chapel, Lindsay, OK on Tuesday, March 20, 2001 at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Shane Hall officiating. Pallbearers include Alvin Carpenter, Lee Roy Warden, Mike Carpenter, Alvin Lindley, John Warden, Toni Carpenter, Jim Carpenter, Chris Phelps, Robert Carpenter, Steve Carpenter, John Lindley, Jr., Dewitt Potts and Scotty Potts. Interment will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Lindsay, Oklahoma.
