PEA RIDGE — Paul Lee Wanken, 65, of Pea Ridge, died Wednesday, June 9, at Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville. He was born April 7, 1945, at Eagle Grove, Iowa, to Edwin Gearhart Wanken and Evon Marie Wergeland Wankel.
He was a grain farmer in Iowa for many years before moving to this area in 1984 to make his home. He was employed at Bekaert Steel and was a Lutheran. He enjoyed gardening, barbecuing, NASCAR, watching the birds, his grandchildren and his dogs.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Richard Dean Wanken.
Survivors are his wife, Shirley Wanken of the home; two daughters, Julia Gillen and husband, Dan, and Paula Marie Wanken, all of San Antonio, Texas; two sons, George Patton and wife, Kelly, of Pea Ridge, and Zack Patton, of Avoca; two brothers, Jody Wanken and wife, Laura, of Eldora, Iowa, and Mark Wanken and wife, Cindy, of Norwalk, Iowa; three stepbrothers, Richard Baessler of Oregon, Thomas Baessler and Michael Baessler and wife, Chris, all of Eagle Grove, Iowa; two stepsisters, Penelope Palmer and husband, Randy, of Renwick, Iowa, and Kristine Palmer and husband, Rick, of Luck, Wis.; and 14 grandchildren.
Funeral service is set for Saturday, June 12, 10 a.m. at Sisco Funeral Home Chapel in Pea Ridge with Pastor Neil Vanderbush officiating.
Burial will be at Twelve Corners Cemetery north of Pea Ridge.
Visitation is set for Friday, June 11, 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Shirley G. Wagner, 70, of Pea Ridge, Arkansas died February 3, 2022 at Mercy Hospital in Rogers.
She was born April 25, 1951 in Rogers, Arkansas to Stanley Frank Zeh and Hazel Francis McCurdy Zeh. She graduated from Rogers High School in 1969 and was a claims adjuster for Wal-Mart for twenty years. She enjoyed making patriotic quilts, sewing and traveling. She is preceded in death by her parents and a husband, Paul Wanken.
Survivors are her husband Emery Wagner of the home; two sons, George Patton of Pea Ridge, Zach Patton and wife Jonna of Garfield; two sisters, Darlene Millard of Bryant, Arkansas, Betina Ponnoosamy and husband Logan of Kirkland, Washington; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Graveside services is set for 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 12 at Twelve Corners Cemetery. Arrangements are by Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge. Visitation will start at 11:00 A.M. Saturday before the service at the funeral home.
