Preston John Odell, 66, Rt. 1, was found dead near his home Friday night. He was born Feb. 7, 1903 in Columbia County, the son of Edward L. and Cynthia Snider Odell. He had been a resident of El Dorado for 30 years, was a member of Marysville United Methodist Church and employe of Lion Oil Refinery. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Gracie Nesbitt Odell; one son, Harold Odell, St. Louis, Mo.; one daughter, Mrs. Evelyn Hall, Columbia, S.C.; two brothers, Dallas Odell, Waldo, and Louis Odell, Stephens; one sister, Mrs. Willie Mae Nesbitt, El Dorado; and five grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at Marysville United Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Monday with the Rev. Myron Pierce officiating, assisted by the Rev. Mike Smith. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery under the direction of Rumph Mortuary. Pallbearers will be Lynn Fite, J. D. Carey, Harvey Darden, Darce Bishop, D. S. Vinson and Morris McKinnon.
