Obituary
Nina Smith, 87, of Conway, Arkansas passed away on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 in Conway, Arkansas. Mrs. Smith was born on Wednesday, March 14, 1934 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to the late Orrie Clark and Daisy Hughes Clark.
Nina was a member of First Christian Church in Conway, Arkansas. She obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Arts and English from the University of Central Arkansas. Nina was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority for many years. She later worked for the UCA bookstore for over twenty years. Some of the things she enjoyed were painting, gardening, golfing, going to UCA games, she also loved playing bridge and dominoes with her sorority sisters. It was often said she never met a stranger.
Left to cherish her memory are, one daughter, Wendy Smith of Conway, Arkansas; three nephews, Berrye Smith (Celeste) of Spingfield, Missouri, David Lester, (Berna) of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Charles Lester (Jamie) of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; two nieces, Jackie Menasco (Keith) of Phoenix, Arizona, Laurel Darrow (Joe) of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; four Caregivers, Tina Tarpley, Melissa Hight, Catelynn Abbott, Courtney Perry; and several great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends.
Mrs Smith is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Dr. Derald Smith, one sister Joan Moreland.
A private service for Mrs. Smith will be held at a later date.

Derald Smith, 89, of Conway, AR, passed away Friday, January 22, 2021. He was born December 12, 1931 in Oklahoma City, OK, to the late J. Berrye and Sue Harris Smith.
Dr. Smith graduated from Oklahoma University with a Bachelor's of Science and a Master's Degree. He later received his PHD at the University of Texas and taught Microbiology at UCA from 1968 until his retirement in 2003.
He enjoyed going to the Conway Fitness Center and was an avid supporter of UCA athletics. He was a lifelong blood donor and the family encourages others to donate blood in his memory.
Derald was also preceded in death by his brother, Coleman Smith and sister, Joan Lester.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Nina C. Smith; daughter, Wendy Smith; nephews, Berrye Smith, David Lester, and Charles Lester and nieces, Laurel Darrow and Jackie Menasco.
