Mrs. Jane Pearson Richards, 91, of Houma, LA died Thursday, July 20, 2006 at the Oaks Nursing Home in Houma. She was a native of Ashley County; a resident of Houma, LA for the past eight years and a former resident of Fountain Hill, Crossett, Lufkin TX, California and Oregon. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Fountain Hill.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Joe Verdoorn, Chester Gill and J.T. Richards; her parents, W.C. & Mary Berry Pearson; seven brothers, John Berry, Frank, Maurice, Jimmy, Billy and twins Myron & Byron Pearson; two sisters, Mamie Lynn & Bobbie Tilton.
She is survived by two sons, Joe Verdoorn and his wife, Helen, and Michael Gill and his wife, Charlene, all of Traverse City, MI; a daughter, Mary Jane Gill Borst and her husband, Bob, of Houma, LA; a brother, Jack Pearson of Hempstead, TX; a sister, Frances Lynn of LaPorte, TX; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild, one great-great-grandchild; a brother-in-law, Robert Tilton of Houston, TX; a sister-in-law, Maxine Pearson of Crossett and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Graveside funeral services and burial are 2 p.m., Saturday, July 22, 2006, in the Flat Creek Cemetery with Rev. Lane Amos officiating.
