Jessie Cason Stein, 94, of Hamburg, died Sunday, September 10, 2017
at her residence. Mrs. Stein was a native of Lena, Louisiana; a former
resident of Portland, Arkansas and Dallas, Texas and a resident of
Hamburg for the past 30 years. She was a homemaker, retired Private
Duty Nurse and a member of the Southside Baptist Church. In her spare
time, she loved to paint and sew.
She is preceded in death by her husbands, Earl “Whitey” Stein in 2016
and James Randall Cason in 1975; a son, James A. Cason; a daughter,
Shirlie Cason Fredrick; a grandson, Wade Sibley; a great-grandson, Kye
Wells; a step-son, Charles “Chuck” Stein; a son-in-law, Jesse D.
McCrory; her parents, John David & Jessie Davis Porter and four
brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by four daughters, Inez Sibley and husband, Eddie L., of
Eudora, Margaret McCrory, Christine Roberts and husband, Raymond,
and Fay White and husband, Phillip, all of Hamburg; two sons, Ray
Cason and wife, Nancy Jane, of Indian Mound, Tennessee and John
Cason of Eudora; a step-son, Mark Stein of Garland, Texas; a sister,
Carlie Vatroano of California; a special sister-in-law, Ruth Stein of
Latrobe, Pennsylvania; 22 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 10
great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are 10 a.m., Thursday, September 14, 2017 at the
Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jerry Grant and Bro.
Mark Harris officiating. Burial will be in the Flat Creek Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Casey Sibley, Cliff Wells, Scotty Roberts, James Allen
Roberts, Eli Roberts, Randall Cason, Winston Sibley and Mark
Cason. Memorials may be made to Ashley County Cares, PO Box 366,
Hamburg, AR 71646.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home
