Clovis Dean Westbrook, age 82, of Pangburn, Arkansas, passed away Monday, July 6, 2009, at the White County Medical Center in Searcy. Born in Pleasant Plains, Arkansas, on October 7, 1926, he was the son of the late Clovis M. and Cleo (McAdams) Westbrook.
Mr. Westbrook was retired, having been a sawmill worker, employee of Matthews International in Searcy, and the owner of a café in Pangburn. He served in the United States Army and was a veteran of World War II. Mr. Westbrook was a member of the Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Birtie Jane (McDougal) Westbrook on November 3, 2001.
Survivors include two sons, Harold D. Westbrook and wife, Diane, of Searcy and Larry Westbrook and wife, Renee, of Pangburn; one daughter, Dianne Houston of Pangburn; one brother, Robert Westbrook of Benton; eight grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. Mr. Westbrook is also survived by other relatives and his many friends. His decorations include : The Army Good Conduct Medal, The Phillippine Campaign medal , WW2 service Medal , Army of Occupation Medal , WW2 victory medal , The Silver Star, Korea service medal and the Purple Heart.
