Doris Faye Darris, 86, of Black Rock passed from this life on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould. She was born December 24, 1935, to John Marshall and Mary Marie (Jones) Bowers in Barnes Ridge, Missouri. Doris was a homemaker and was a member of Shekinah Tabernacle in Hardy.

In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her first husband, George Edward Jackson and second husband, Richard Carlton “Dick” Darris; children, Sandra Blazer, Steven Jackson, Alan Jackson, and George Jackson; siblings, Alice Bowers, John Bowers, Estel Bowers, R.D. Bowers, and Evelyn Leona (Babe) Bowers; grandchildren, Michael Goza, Kimberly Harper, and Gary Blazer; and great grandson, Zackery Harper.

She is survived by her children, Charlotte Jackson-McGarrah of Hardy, Donna Ashby of Michigan, Frankie Jackson (Karen) of Black Rock, Paul Jackson (Bridgett) of Black Rock; siblings, Paul Bowers (Norma) of Texas, Bernice Bowers (Larry) of Louisiana, and L.D. Bowers (Shirley) of Missouri; fifteen grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Friday, October 7, 2022, from 1 until 2 p.m. at Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge with funeral services following at 2 p.m. Martin McComas will officiate. Interment will follow in Oak Forest Cemetery in Black Rock under the direction of Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
