LaVerna Winborn, 87, of Alma entered into rest, Thursday, October 21, 2004, in a local hospital. She was born January 17, 1917, in Alma, the daughter of the late William and Emily Basham. She was a former employee of Alma Day Care Center, a member of New Heights Baptist Church and the widow of the late Monroe Winborn and was preceded in death by one son-in-law, Norman Melton.
Suvivors include one son, daughter, grandsons, and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Monday, October 25, 2004, at New Heights Baptist Church in Alma with burial at Evergreen Cemetery in Alma.
