Doyle Gene Richmond, 79 of Van Buren passed away Sunday, July 31, 2016 in a local nursing home.

He was retired Arkola Sand & Gravel and he worked at Garrison Furniture Company in Fort Smith. He was a graduate from Cedarville the Class of 1954 and was class president; he was former member of the Arkansas National Guard. He was member of Van Buren First Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Aleceia Ann Richmond; his son, John Scott Richmond; both his parents, Leonard and Mae (Smith) Richmond; one sister, Juanita Conger; two brothers, Bill & Jimmy Richmond.

Funeral service will be at 10 AM Thursday, August 4, 2016 at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with cremation to follow under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.

He is survived by his wife, Sun Richmond of the home; one son, James Layne of Barling; two sisters, Faye Rust of Fort Smith and Mary Hobbs of Cedarville; three grandchildren, Anthony, Justin and Destiny Layne; two great grandchildren.

Sun "Sue" Richmond, 76, of Van Buren, passed away Friday, April 15, 2022 in Fort Smith.
She was born July 15, 1945 in Seoul, Korea.

She was retired from Sparks Regional Medical Center - Fort Smith, was a member of Shibley Baptist Church, and was a Beauty Control representative.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Richmond; a daughter, Aleceia Layne; and two sons, James Keith Layne and John Richmond.

She is survived by a sister, Sun-Sim Yi of South Korea; three grandchildren, Destiny Layne, Justin Layne, and Anthony Layne and wife Jennifer; and two great-grandchildren, Alaska Layne and Cedric Layne.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Gracelawn Cemetery, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home in Van Buren.

October 25, 1972 - February 17, 2006

John Richmond, 33, of Fort Worth, Texas, formerly of Van Buren, died Friday, Feb. 17, 2006, in his home. He was a graduate of Van Buren High School class of 1991, he attended Westark Junior College, Arkansas Tech and UAMS in Little Rock, and he was a computer programmer for Cash America Inc. in Fort Worth, Texas. He was a member of Shibley Baptist Church.

He is survived by his parents, Sun and Gene Richmond of Van Buren; one sister, Aleceia Smith of Van Buren; one brother, James Lane of Van Buren; one niece, Destiny Lane of Van Buren; two nephews, Anthony Lane of Van Buren and Justin Lane of Russellville; as well as a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.
