Bill Gardner, 76, of Garfield, died Wednesday, July 2, at Mercy Hospital of Northwest Arkansas. He was born August 6, 1937, at Augusta, Kansas, to William Nelson Gardner and Ellen Bertha Heimeyer Gardner. He was owner and operator of Gardner Plumbing in Augusta. In 1987 he moved to the Beaver Lake area to make his home. He opened Beaver Lake Realty with his wife, Janet Gardner in the early 90’s. He enjoyed boating, camping, spending time on Beaver Lake, his dogs, and sitting on his deck in the early peaceful mornings with his coffee and cigar. He attended Lost Bridge Community Church and is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Janet Gardner in 2004; and one brother, Wilbur Gardner.

Survivors are his wife Pattie Gardner of the home; two daughters, Tonie Apel and husband Mike of Augusta, Kansas, and Tracy Edwards of Garfield; two step-daughters Roxie Hill and husband Scott of Rogers, and Katie Woolery of Kerrville, Texas; one step-son,Jesse Hennage of North Carolina; one sister, Norma Agard and husband Gary of Augusta, Kansas; three grandchildren, Blake Apel and wife Jennie of Augusta, Kansas, Tyler Apel of Denver, Colorado, and Joseph McKee of New York, NY.; one great-granddaughter, Savannah Apel of Augusta, Kansas, and five step-grandchildren.

Cremation arrangements are by Sisco Funeral Home of Pea Ridge.

A memorial service is set for 10:30a.m., Saturday, July 5, at Whitney Mountain Chapel in Garfield with Pastor Alan Tyson officiating. Memorials may be made to God’s Pantry, 17938 Dennis Mitchell Road, Garfield, AR 72732.
