Lawrence E. Denton, 75, of 4018 Wirsing, Fort Smith, Arkansas died Thursday, February 18, 1982 at a Fort Smith hospital.

He was a retired civil service employee, a Navy veteran of World War II a native of Scranton and a Baptist.

Funeral was held Saturday at Ocker Memorial Chapel. Burial was at Gracelawn cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Isa; a daughter Linda of Van Buren; two sons Leon of Smithfield, Utah and Bobby of Fort Smith; three sisters, Maggie, Ruby and Lee all of Scranton; a brother Wilburn of Scranton; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Margarette Carol Denton, 41, of Fort Smith died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2002, in a local hospital. She was a member of Grand Avenue Baptist Church in Fort Smith. Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Monday in Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren. She is survived by her parents, Bob and Evelyn Denton of Fort Smith; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. The family will visit with friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the home of Bob and Evelyn Denton, 3823 Birnie Avenue in Fort Smith. Times Record Online
