James Bruce Gilmer Sr.
August 16, 1956 - April 3, 2006

James Bruce Gilmer Sr., 49 of Jonesboro died Monday, April 3, 2006 at St. Bernards Medical Center. He had lived his lifetime in Jonesboro and was of the Baptist Belief. As a long standing member of the Free Spirit Riders, James “Gilley” Gilmer will be missed by all of his brothers and fellow riders.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Alvin Gilmer, one son, James Bruce Gilmer, Jr., and his great grandmother X. L. Fleetwood.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Thursday, April 6, 2006 at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Leroy Franks officiating and burial to follow at Shiloh Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers are Will Pollard, Barry Jones, Ronnie “Preacher” Montgomery, James “Bos” Burris, Ronnie Tucker, Tim “Tiny” Huffine. Honorary pallbearers are William Gann, Nick Gann, Richard Clay, James Danels, JD Guthrie, and Chester Markum.

Visitation will be from 5 – 7 Wednesday night at Emerson Funeral Home. For those wishing to leave lasting memorials, the family request you please consider the James Gilmer Fund at Liberty Bank.

Angela Renee Gilmer, 50, of Bono, passed away Sunday, August 8, 2021 at her home. She was born July 31, 1971 in Jonesboro to Gene and Carolyn Jeanette (Brown) Jones. Angie worked for WATCO as a truck dispatcher and was of the Baptist belief. She loved riding motorcycles, collecting Christmas ornaments, shooting guns, and New Orleans Saints football.

Angie was preceded in death by her mother; husband, James B. Gilmer; and her grandparents.

Those left behind to cherish the wonderful memories of Angie include her sons, Timothy Alan (Ashley) Jones and James Michael Cole; her father; grandchildren, Carter Alan Jones, Amelia Faith Jones and Westley Keith Cole; a brother, Barry Gene Jones; two sisters, Tammy Jeanette (Joesph) Rolfe and Beverly Ann Jones; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and 3 fur babies, Jax, Tooie and Paris.

Chapel services will be 10 am Friday at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home, 1900 West Washington Avenue in Jonesboro with Jim Pagan officiating. Burial will follow at Shiloh Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5 pm to 7 pm at the funeral home.

Brandon Curtis, Stephen Foster, Gary Galli, Ryan Foster, Blake Jones, and Cody Hogue will serve as pallbearers. Casey Hogue and Curt Hogue will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Masks are required for the visitation and service.
