Juanita Pappas, 87, of Hot Springs died Sunday, May 3, 2015, at home.

Born November 24, 1927, in Hot Springs to Sherman and Juletta Scott, she was a member of First Baptist Church Hot Springs.

She was a graduate of Hot Springs High School, Class of 1947. She was a member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority Alpha Gamma Chapter. She retired from Arkansas Bank and Trust after 48 years. She was predeceased by her parents and husband Angelo Pappas.

She is survived by two sons, Ken Pappas of Ft. Smith and Jim Pappas of Little Rock; one daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Carl Hawthorn of Hot Springs; five granddaughters and husbands, Dena (Jesse) Chambliss of Bentonville, Jennifer (Troy) Hietanen of Savannah, GA, Lexi (Brad) Moore of Springdale, Meredith (Dylan) Embree of Memphis, TN, and Morgan Hawthorn of Hot Springs; eight great-grandchildren, Haley Chambliss, Creed Chambliss, Alec Hietanen, Mason Lockridge, Madison Lockridge, Molly Moore, Susanna Moore, and Rowan Embree; sister, Virginia Stringer; brother and sister-in-law, Perry and Jo Scott; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dr. James (Eva) Pappas; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services are 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 6, 2015, at Hot Springs Funeral Home with Reverend Mike Pounders officiating, and burial at Memorial Gardens Cemetery following the service.

Pallbearers will be Mike Stringer, Bob Stringer, Brad Moore, Dylan Embree, Alec Hietanen, and Creed Chambliss.

Honorary pallbearers are Rick Scott, Mark Scott, her ESA sisters, her Domino friends, and the Polly SS class.

Special thank you to Cyndi Hardister, Brad Esch, and No Place Like Home Care staff.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at Hot Springs Funeral Home. Memorials can be made to First Baptist Church Hot Springs.
