Grover C. Payne, 81 years old of Cedarville, Arkansas died Sunday night February 19, 1967 in a local hospital. He was born August 1, 1885 in Texas and had lived in Crawford county for more than 57 years. He was a retired farmer.
Survivors are his wife, Leota; two sons of Cedarville, Arkansas and one son of Seattle Washington; five daughters, Elsie of Van Buren, May of Bellview, Michigan, Stella Fay of Lakewood, California, and Amy Lee and Leota both of Cedarville, Arkansas; a brother of Porterville, California; two sisters, Ethel of Spiro, Ok and Bethel of Pocola, Oklahoma; 28 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Cedarville Assembly of God. Dennis Jech and Hoyt Ming were officiating ministers. Burial in Salem cemetery was under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home.
Grandsons served as casket bearers, were, Glen Wayne, Daymor, Danny, Kenny and Ronald.
