Alice Frances (McAfee) Furns, age 79, of Rose Bud, Arkansas, passed away Monday, August 18, 2008, at the Byrd Haven Nursing Home in Searcy. Born in White County on December 12, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Dewey and Mattie (Magness) McAfee.
Mrs. Furns was a homemaker, and she was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Furns.
Survivors include three sons, D. A. Owen, Jr., Gary Owen, and Dewey Owen, all of Rose Bud; two sisters, Catherine Stark of Searcy and Imogene Glass of Columbus, Kansas; six grandchildren, Chad Owen, Calli Grimm, Tonya Rodgers, and Dois Owen, III, all of Rose Bud, Angela Hall of Ft. Worth, Texas, and Wendy Owen of Searcy; and 11 great grandchildren. Mrs. Furns is also survived by other relatives and her many friends.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, Aug. 19, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Olmstead Funeral Home in Heber Springs. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 20, at 10:30 a.m. in the Olmstead Chapel with Rev. Kathy DeBusk officiating. Interment will follow in the Weir Cemetery. Arrangements are by Olmstead Funeral Home, Inc.
