WINSLOW -- Arvel Dean Hughes, 74, of Winslow died July 17, 2004, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Little Rock. He was born July 24, 1929, in Winslow to Claude and Ines Hayes Hughes. He was retired from Elkhart Products Corp., and was an Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Hughes; one son, Roger Dean Hughes of Winslow; one daughter, Maxie Cross of Farmington; two granddaughters; two great-grandsons; one great-granddaughter.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Moore's Chapel in Fayetteville with M.C. Parrish officiating. Burial will be in Vaught Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Moore's.

Virginia Hughes, age 86 of Farmington, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on November 26, 2011 in Fayetteville.
She was born November 10, 1925 in Winslow, Arkansas to John and Alice Adams Foster.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Arvel Hughes, twin daughters, five brothers and six sisters.
She is survived by one daughter, Maxie Cross of Farmington, AR; one son, Roger Hughes of Brentwood, AR; two granddaughters, Shanna Collins of Farmington, AR; Jenna Hughes of Fayetteville, AR; one great granddaughter, Casey; four great grandsons, Brennon, Levi, Landon, Mason; two sisters, Nell Fraley and Mazie Stonesifer both of Fayetteville, AR; and lots of nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Monday November 28, 2011 at Moore's Chapel with burial at Vaught Cemetery near Mountainburg, Arkansas under the direction of Moore's Chapel in Fayetteville.
Pallbearers will be Mark Reed, Brennon Collins, Terry Foster, Wayne Foster, Mike Stonesifer and Larry Fraley.
