Betty Jean London Friddle, 70, died Sunday, July 11, 2004, in a Fort Smith hospital. She was a homemaker , she wrote Chester news columns for the Press Argus and Washington County Observer for several years, drove a school bus for the Mountainburg School District for nine years, worked as a beautician and was the officer in charge of the Chester Post Office for 10 years, was a member of the Chester Freewill Baptist Church and the Golden Chapter of the Eastern Star.

Funeral was held at 11 a.m. at the Chester Freewill Baptist Church with burial at Vaught Cemetery north Mountainburg under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma.

She is survived by her husband, two daughters, two sons, a a brother, seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
