Our Beloved Father and Mother

Cyrus B. Hill, a former resident of El Dorado, died September 16, in Gary, Ind. Born in the Free Union Community, March 12, 1890, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Chest Hill. He joined Free Union A.M.E. Church. Later he moved to El Dorado and joined Lee Chapel A.M.E. Church, where he served as a member of the Trustee board until he went to Gary a few years ago. There he joined the First A.M.E. church under the pastorate of Rev. John E. Hunter. He married Miss Mallie Sue Ella Brown, March 17, 1912. To this union eight children were born. He is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Clisteen Jones, Mrs. Alberteen Ferrell, Mrs. Malonie Williams all of Gary, Mrs. Virgnia Rose Freeman, El Dorado, Mrs. Lilliam Lajuan Morris, West Memphis, Ark.; three sons, Clennon T. Hill, Detroit, Mich., Hosea Hill, Chicago, Ill., James Hill, Gary; three brothers, Willie Hill, Harmon H. Hill, both of El Dorado, Minor Hill, Lincoln, Ill.; one sister, Mrs. Addie Henry, El Dorado; 18 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. from Lee Chapel AME Church. Burial will be in Lott Burgy under the direction of Andrews Funeral Home. (The El Dorado Times - September 23, 1966)
