John Lawson Johnson, 87, died peacefully at his residence on Tuesday, August 18, 2020.
Born June 18, 1933 in Lamberton Community near Parker’s Chapel, Union Co., AR, he was the son of William Clyde Johnson and Lucille Combs Johnson. John attended both Parkers Chapel and El Dorado High School. Soon after he went to work in the Aircraft Manufacturing Industry in Fort Worth, TX and Long Beach, CA. John was a long-standing member of Local 706 Plumbers and Pipefitters Union in El Dorado, and the Local and National member of the Experimental Aircraft Association.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Annette Steelman Johnson; a brother, James Clyde Johnson; one granddaughter; and one great granddaughter.

He leaves behind four daughters, Kathy White (Grady), Janet Deeds (Jake), Sharon Cheatham (Larry), all of El Dorado and Barbara Dalby of Rochester, NY; grandchildren, Corey White, Lauran Sappenfield (Nick), Devin Patterson (Ashley), Brandon Cheatham (Hanna), Ashley Holzhauser (Logan), Tyler Cheatham, Seth Caldwell (Mallory) all of El Dorado, Brittney Caldwell-Griffin (Charlie) of Kentucky, and Beau Williams (Bernadette) stationed at JBER AFB, Alaska; great grandchildren, Gavin, Sienna, Archer, Adyson, Brayden, Baylor, Berkeley, Lakynn, Chip, Jace, Ben and Sylis; a sister, Billie Voss of San Jose, CA; sisters-in-law, Ann Steelman of Mountain Home, AR, Susie Steelman of Camden, AR, brother-in-law, Bennie Steelman (Sonya) of Camden, AR; many nephews; and one niece.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, August 21, 2020 at Young's. According to CDC regulations masks are required and social distancing is practiced.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 22, at Old Parkers Chapel Cemetery with Rev. Adam Thomas officiating and interment to follow under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for remembrances in honor of John be made in the form of a donation to the preservation or protection of wildlife through a charity or foundation
