of Sulphur Rock, AR

November 10, 1926 - December 19, 2014

Jeanette M. Frazier Black, 88, of Sulphur Rock, died Friday, December 19, 2014, at a local nursing home.

Born November 10, 1926, in Rosebud, Arkansas, she was the daughter of Booth Goodloe and Erin Rainwater Goodloe.

She was a 1943 graduate and salutatorian of Rosebud High School. Shortly after high school, she taught school. Later on in her career, she worked for NASA at the Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas for 23 years. She was a secretary in the Space Environment Test Division where all rocket testing for the space program was performed. She enjoyed reading, working word puzzles and especially visiting with family and friends. She was member of the Moorefield United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband, James Joseph Black of Batesville; four daughters, Donna Hare of Searcy, Peggy Parker of Sulphur Rock, Carmen Morgan of Santa Fe, New Mexico and Kila Skellenger of Kemah, Texas; five stepchildren, Lynn Turnbell of New York, Sally Black of Newburgh, New York, Jim Black Jr. and Chris Black of Batesville and Tom Black of San Diego, California; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Van Frazier; a brother, Jim Ed Goodloe; a sister, Georgia Aistrip; and two great-grandsons, Seth and Mason Saul.

The service will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 23, 2014, at Roller-Crouch Chapel in Batesville with LaVon Bloodworth Long officiating.

Burial will be at Pickens Chapel Cemetery near Searcy under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.

Pallbearers will be Kenneth Hare, Lloyd Parker, Rick Morgan, Jason Swain, Don Leonard and Dr. Mark Skellenger.

Visitation is from 9:00-10:00 a.m., Tuesday prior to the service.
