Emma Dell Whitehead Taylor from Texarkana, Texas went to be with her Lord on May 28, 2015. She was a Baptist. She was born on April 30, 1923 in Lewisville, Arkansas to Burba and Mary Redmon. She was one of five children, all of whom are deceased. They are Margaret Wheelis of Lewisville, Arkansas, Bessie Tarlton of Lewisville, Arkansas, Burl Redmon of Springhill, Louisiana and Sarah Crowder of Camden, Arkansas.
Surviving are her three sons; Marvin Whitehead of Arlington, Virginia, Larry Whitehead and Susan West of Magnolia, Arkansas, Robert Whitehead and Margie Whitehead of Texarkana, Arkansas. Also surviving are a number of nieces and nephews.
After graduation from Lewisville she attended beauty school in Pine Bluff, Arkansas and owned and operated her beauty parlor in Lewisville for many years. She finished her husband's term of tax assessor in Lafayette County after his death in 1956.
Funeral services will be held 2 pm Monday, June 1, 2015 at the A.O. Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Stamps, Arkansas with Bro. Bill Saxby officiating. Interment will follow at Wilson cemetery in Lewisville under the direction of A.O. Smith Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Monday, June 1, 2015 from 1pm until service time at the funeral home. Donations may be made to Running WJ Ranch in Texarkana, Texas or the charity of your choice.
