Richard Earl Silvy, a former resident of Clarksville, AR passed away Saturday. March 23, 2019
In Harrison, AR.
He was a resident of Hillcrest Nursing Home.
Mr. Silvy, the son of William Earl and Catherine Smith Silvy, was born April 23, 1919 in Louisville, KY.

He is survived by one daughter, Carol Silvy Ward and husband Ronald of Burlington, AR. One granddaughter, Stacy Scrivner and husband Gabe of Fort Smith, AR. Two grandsons, Steve Ward of Harrison, AR and Kevin Taylor and wife Beverly of Springdale, AR. Mr. Silvy is also survived by two great grandsons, Jackson and Mason Scrivner; three
Great granddaughters, Natalie and Lindsey Ward, and Larissa Taylor; and three great-great grandchildren as well as several nieces, nephews and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Mary E. Keeton Silvy and daughter Mary
Jane Silvy Taylor. He was also preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.

Mr. Silvy was a member of First United Methodist Church in Clarksville where he taught the
Fellowship Sunday school class for many years.
He was a veteran of WWII and served as Sgt. Major of Headquarters 55th Bomb Wing, 15th Air Force. He was awarded the Bronze Star and Good Conduct Medal. Mr. Silvy worked twenty years at International Shoe Co. in Russellville, AR as Office Manager before moving to Clarksville Shoe Plant where he was Administrative
Assistant. He retired in 1984.

Pallbearers are Steve Ward, Kevin Taylor, Gabe Scrivner, Jackson Scrivner, Mason Scrivner and
Bob Geisler. Honorary Pallbearers are Mrs. Billie Smith, Rev. Aaron Barling, Mrs. Joyce Sykes,
Mr. Roy Horne, Mrs. Billie Evants, Mrs. Marylou Musgrove, Members of the FUMC Fellowship
Sunday School Class and the staff of Hillcrest Nursing Home in Harrison. AR.

The family will receive visitors (1 p.m. till 2 p.m.) one hour prior to service on Wednesday,
March 27, 2019 at First United Church in Clarksville with services being held at First United
Methodist Church in Clarksville.
